Another chill Saturday

I don't know what it is lately, but around here during the week it is nice, pretty, warm with clear skies, but once Saturday hits, the temperature drops, the sky closes up and some sort of water starts to fall. I am not complaining at all, it is just odd. We got our first "snow" today. Well it really wasn't much, but you could actually tell that snow was falling but no accumulation at all. It is cold enough for peppermint hot chocolate though!

Exciting news, I have figured out the scoring for curling, US men just beat the Swiss last night! So the object is to have a "stone" closet to the button, or the center of the "bullseye". If at the end of the end, that is what it is called for every eight throws per team, you have the closest stone, you get to add up the other stone within the blue ring. So only one team really gets to score points during each end. For a really great website about the sport, rules etc... go here www.curlingbasics.com

Also, I have to say that the people that are doing the skeleton have to be some of the craziest in the Olympics. I mean I would love to go flying down a hill head first in the snow, but flying down a hill head first on concrete and ice, that is another thing.

Amanda and I would like to encourage you all to leave comments by just clicking on the word comments at the end of the post.

Well I am off to watch some more Olympics and drink my hot chocolate. Have a good one, Jared

Curling is addictive, for sure. In the 2002 games, I laughed at it. Now...I laugh with it. And keep watching it and watching it. And then still watch it even when Sweden and Norway women are playing. What's wrong with us?

There is nothing wrong about curling, we just understand the complexity of it. What a great sport! The skill, the grace, the person who thought this up must have been really bored and maybe had a little to much to drink.

Grmma says,

I'll join you for the hot chocolate. Curling is somewhat like shuffle board. Looks like fun.
