July 4th Weekend

We got through our first weekend alone, fireworks and thunderstorms included! We had some guest come over, Jon and Jessica brought Chloe's new best friend Mary Claire(MC) who is slightly bigger than her. We had laid them down next to each other and had to keep MC from rolling over on her! It was very interesting to see how the two differed.
Friday was the 4th of July so that meant a night of fireworks! Amanda and I were a bit tired so we decided to stay in and have a true American meal of delivery pizza! Now fireworks are great and everyone likes them...except Dixon. On top of the fireworks, we had thunderstorms, another of Dixon's favorite things! Needless to say, Amanda ended up holding Chloe as she slept, I ended up holding a 60 pound, shaking like a leaf, panting uncontrollably Dixon dog for a number of hours! On Saturday night since most of the bigger fireworks around were rained out, we went through the same act except we switched "children," Amanda got Dixon and I got Chloe. I do have to say Chloe is a lot easier to handle than Dixon dog during these times!

Sunday brought more visitors, Daniel, Hannah and Caleb came over for a short visit! On top of that, they brought food! Thanks L'Hommedeiu's!

We are off and running in week two of having Chloe in our lives and we are all getting adjusted better. Amanda is being a wonderful Mom to Chloe. The two have so many characteristics alike. Chloe has her nose, her ears and some of her temperament. I see so much of Amanda in Chloe in how she sleeps and how she wakes up from stretching to yawning. We are excited about seeing more of our little girl come out!
