Salmonella

It was a sad day for us in the Mestler home. Our favorite food, the world's most perfect food, is now contaminated. Jared and I eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches on a daily basis, and there is almost nothing better than digging into a brand new jar of peanut butter. Mmmmmmmm. Not today, however. Thank you, salmonella, for ruining our lunches. (Well, my lunch. Jared was probably a bit too excited when I called him and told him not to eat his sandwich, and to go out to eat instead. Probably made his day.) At least we only had one jar of peanut butter to throw away, unlike my parents, who had four. We are a peanut butter lovin family.

In other news, if you ever talk to Jared while he is at work and he seems distracted, this is probably why. This is the view from his window on the 14th floor on the Capital Bank building in downtown Raleigh. The five year old inside of him is jumping up and down with excitement. And rightly so.

Here's hoping all your meals are salmonella free!

I love the crane too...not quite as close to it as Jared though...We wonder where the little guy in the control room uses the bathroom...does he wear adult diapers like the astronaut?

Amanda, your sad, sad salmonella peanut butter face looks a bit like The Ring face. I might have felt like you were going to climb out of the computer screen.
I'm sorry you were so distraught. Nobody should have to live through a disappointment like that.
(And I kinda wish you had climbed out of the computer screen...I miss you.)

Amanda! Hi! I have no idea what random websurfing led me to this page, but somehow I got here! It's Terri from H2H (Jillian's friend :oP ) How are you? My husband and I live in downtown Raleigh-he would kill to work in your husband's office. He talks about how he wishes he could stare out at the cranes on a daily basis. Are you guys nearby? How's life since UNC?

I'm with you about the Peter Pan thing.. it was a very sad day in my house, too. Admittedly I toyed with the idea of finishing off the jar since it was 1/3 eaten and we were all still alive.. but I threw it away and bought some Jif. Just not the same.
