I got a chance to go see the Stanley Cup yesterday so a buddy of mine at work and thought it would be in our best interest to do just that! It was at a museum downtown that I used to work at and when we walked in the door there was a huge line of kids waiting to see the cup from one of the downtown magnet schools. The teachers told us to go ahead of them and thus we were at the front of the line! They had not opened yet and when they did, we were the first ones in the door. They didn't let anyone else in so it was just Scott, myself and a couple of people from the museum in a sense, we had the cup to ourselves!
I do have to say that the best part was the fact that when all the players and coaches were toting it around all summer and before the season, it did not have the newest silver band on it with the Hurricane's players names. Well it does now!
In totally unrelated news, on our way back to work from seeing the cup we saw a helicopter and a bird collide in the air and sadly that hunk of white stuff that was falling from the sky after the incident was not the pilot's pizza box from the Papa John's they just picked up...
