We have a turtle...kind of....
I would like to introduce you to Sammie! He is a Box Turtle and he "lives" in our yard. Dixon found him a couple of weeks ago. He was in our back yard, inside the fence, on top of the far hill (for those of you who have seen our yard, you will understand where that is. For those of you who have not seen our yard, come on over!) Dixon didn't really know what to think of him, so I picked him up and took him inside to try to convince Amanda that he needed to stay in our guest bathroom bathtub. She didn't like that idea. I took him out front to the side of the house where we have a whole bunch of Hostas. I thought he might like it there, lots of shade, things to eat and plenty of water. He hung around for a couple of days and then he ran away. Yesterday, Dixon was up at the back hill again doing a weird, what is this thing dance so I went to check it out and there was Sammie! It only took him two weeks, but he was back in the same place where we originally found him. I brought Sammie back inside and tried again for the bathtub, but alas, Sammie ended up back in the Hostas. I found him running away again just an hour later....well not really running, more like waddling. I guess I will see him again in a couple of weeks on the top of the hill. Weird turtle. -Jared

Is "Sammie" short for Sammael, the Hound of Destruction?
OK, that's a movie reference...can anyone get it? My money is on Chris correctly guessing it first.
hmm...could it be from the hellboy series (also turned into the 2004 movie)? Also known as Sammael, the hound of resurrection after his numerous reappearances and several deaths?
nice picture of the crazy lunatic thanks to the idiots who came up with the great idea to make an action figure out of him? Sammael
Let me know if I'm close. :)
The turtle is much cuter though. I'll be sure to feed him for you!
Yes, you are correct Mr. Beahm...so correct that in fact you exposed my inaccurate nomenclature. Truely, Sammael was the "hound of resurrection" instead of "hound of destruction"...I'll shut up now...
Interesting website with a lot of resources and detailed explanations.
