Fun With Dixon

Every night when we get ready to go to bed we have a routine we go through with Dixon, it usual consits of asking him who chewed up things from the trash can in our room or yelling at him, "Dixon get off the pillows, stop licking yourself, move over", etc.... But we do have our fun parts or our routine as well. We play "Close your mouth" which is just us saying close your mouth to Dixon while moving our hand toward him to, well, close his mouth. He acts like he is going to go after our hand and we end up getting lots of Dixon licks. Speaking of which, he has been unusually lickey(sp?) tonight. He has a thing for library books and has a need to sniff them to the fullest and then lick them, especially the pages, apparently those are the best. After that he moves onto one of our hands and whatever else is around, elbows, Amanda's body pillows, the comforter and so on. He then took
his back foot and scratched his ear, not just a little scratch, but the kind where he trys to jam his paw down his ear canal to see what he can find. After that he spent the next ten minutes sniffing/licking, eating his foot, apparently there was something good down there. I have a picture that I will try top post later. Our first "childs" world is about to get rocked so I wanted to make mention of him before all the fun begins. Life with the three of us has been great, but I can't wait to add a little girl into our mix!! -Jared

I'm going to share this post with Bruce so that he'll get a sense of what interesting dogs do. Thanks for being a good role model, Dixon.
