The Makings of a Nursery

Our little girl, whenever she chooses to arrive, will reside in the room formerly known in our home as " the room with no furniture." It took a lot of work to get it to resemble a pink paradise worthy of housing our little one, and we have lots of people to thank for that!

Our first adventure was to get some air movement in this small room. Jared and Chris decided to tackle this one Saturday by installing a fan we originally purchased for our first apartment, almost 5 years ago. Jared has painstakingly moved this fan from apartment to townhouse to house to house, due to the fact I was determined it would come in handy one day (never mind that we only paid like $20 for it in the first place). Alas, in our attempts to move it with us, we somehow misplaced the mounting essentials necessary to secure it to the ceiling:( Woe is me. So, Jared and Chris went to Home Depot, purchased a new fan, and then spent 2 hours installing a brace in the attic built for a 3 foot tall individual, and hanging our new fan. Documentation below.

Sadly, we have no pictures of the next few big projects. My parents came up one Saturday, and my mom and Jared lovingly painted the room our chosen Terra cotta shade. It only took two coats and they knocked it out in only a few hours. It looks great. Meanwhile, my dad and I washed car seats and put together my glider rocker and ottoman, which took longer than expected due to some important mis-labeling of parts. However, it all looks great! Then, Jared's parents came up for the weekend, and Jared and his dad put together the crib. This was by far easier than expected and they assembled it in 1.5 hours. Other furniture was then moved in, and things slowly started to resemble a nursery. Over the next few weeks, we unpacked gifts, washed clothes, made tiny beds, shelved books, etc., until we ended with this finished product...

There will be some wall decor, as well, but it will go up after she is born. We cant wait for her to sleep in her new room! Thanks to all our family for making this happen! We are so blessed and know that we could not have done any of this on our own!
