Baby Boom

Jamie Lynn Spears ain't the only one pregnant. That's right, Amanda & Jared are pregnant. Good evening, folks. Guest blogger/Aunt-to-be Alison here. I got tired of waiting for Amanda and Jared to update their blog, so I hijacked their login information to provide you devoted followers some new material. You're welcome.

Let's address these pregnancies in two parts:

1. Jamie Lynn Spears. Age: 16. High school junior. She recently told The Associated Press that she didn't have a serious boyfriend. "I kind of just keep my options open," she said. "I have a bunch of friends that I always hang out with, a bunch of guy friends."

Well good for you, Jamie. And, hey, good luck figuring out which of those "friends" is now your baby's daddy. May he have a higher IQ and more sense than the baby's uncle (or ex-uncle...however that will work) affectionately known as K-Fed. And, may you have better common sense with your children than your big sis does with hers. Jamie = Pure white trash (my husband's contribution).

2. Amanda and Jared Mestler: Age: 20-somethings. Married nearly five years. High school AND College Degrees (beat that, Jamie Lynn). Good jobs. Great people (a little kooky sometimes, but great nonetheless). Ready for a baby. Added bonuses: 1. Takes the pressure off of James and me, at least for the time being. 2. James and I will have a niece/nephew right in town that we can see whenever we want! So exciting!

I'm sure Christmas at the Proffitt household will be full of baby paraphernalia from this year on! My parents are so excited they're about to bust. All of the baby brands of the world are excited, too. Mom and Dad will most likely be invited to be corporate board members for them all by the time baby M is born, due to the sheer volume of "stuff" they'll be purchasing for the baby.

2008 will be an exciting year! Lots to look forward to!
