Amanda and I decided that our floors downstairs needed to be replaced so coming up in the next couple of weeks, we will have new floors. Dixon is going to hate it! We are putting hardwoods downstairs instead of the most wonderful carpet the previous owners left behind. Dixon does not know how to walk on hardwoods which equals fun for Amanda and I!
In doing this, Dixon is going to have a spend a couple of days at the Pets Hotel. So I call today to make his appointment for him and he has been a regular there for the last two years but we have to go through the same drill everytime but this time there was some added questions we usually get when we drop him off:
Me: Hi, we need to board our dog for a couple of days.
Them: Ok, is this Dixon!
Me: Yes (They look it up by name, there is only one dog under our name:
Them: How much does he weigh?
Me: Around 60 pounds, but he is tall. (they are always befuddled because they want to try to cram him into a cage, not a run which is in his record...along with his weight, but we still answer)
Them: M'kay Does Dixon need any play time?
Me: Yes, day camp the first day, a play time the second
Them: M'kay So the second day only that play time is only thirty minutes right?
Me: Yep!
Them: M'kay Do we need to feed Dixon?
Me: Uh, yes, he's going to be there for a couple of days.
Them: M'kay How much does he get a day?
Me: About three and a half cups of food.
Them: M'kay Do you feed him all at once or a few times a day
Me: He gets its all at once.
Them: M'kay Do you want us to feed him our food or are you bringing his own
Me: We will bring our own.
Them: M'kay What kind of food are you bringing, what brand?
Me: ?????? Uh, Beneful, does it matter?
Them: M'kay When will you be picking him up....
And so for another 5 minutes I answered this poor girls questions about the minute details of Dixon's existence at their facility. So Dixon is all set and I have lost 15 minutes of my life answering questions that are already in their database about my dog who has stayed there so many times before. They even know him as the dog who coughs! The things we do for our dogs.
Oh and her name by the way was literally Patience!

Hi Amanda!
How are you! I check your blog from time and time...you and your husband are so much fun.
I sent you an evite the other day to a shower, but the message was bounced back as in incorrect address. The shower is for Lisa and Dennis Baker and their son Will. It's Saturday, Nov. 10, at Maria Costa's house. I'm going to try to hunt down your current email address, but I'm hoping you get this just in case!
Feel free to email me at stephenkellyburton@hotmail.com if you have any questions.
Hope to see you soon!
