Sweet Revenge

While I try to be true to my beliefs and know that revenge is not something that should be sought after, the screams and the joy written all over my face last night when Carolina crushed Duke at home, on senior night, told a different story. As ESPN flashed a picture of J.J. Reddick staring in disbelief at the court, Jared, Chris, Mel and I laughed in unison. It was almost the same laughter that came when J.J.'s three point shots bounced not off the rim, but off the backboard every time during the second half. True to Carolina/Duke fashion, it was a great game to the end. My favorite moment, though, had to be when Tyler Hansbrough made that not so pretty, but amazing three point shot from the top of the key to help the Heels maintain their lead. This is Tyler Hansbrough, whose home is underneath the basket getting shoved around and making great layups. Not only did he make that great shot, but it was with like 6 seconds left on the shot clock. What a great game. I love the fact that Duke got handed its second loss of the week, and I loved that evil, disappointed look on Coach K's face at the end of the game. Speaking of Coach K, if you havent seen this little diddy, it is pretty funny (and blog-worthy according to my sister...thanks Al).

We also got to spend some time with my parents yesterday in good ole Wilson. Dixon gets pretty spoiled when we go to see them, getting numerous treats, trips outdoors and his favorite dessert of all time, Frosty Paws. If you dont have pets, Frosty Paws is a frozen ice cream-like treat for dogs that Dixon will do pretty much anything for. Here at the mestler home, we remove it from the container and put it in a big bowl to make it easier for him to eat. However, my dad likes for him to lick it out of the rather small container. Nope, he is not spoiled at all. Overall, it was a great weekend. Next weekend will be filled with more basketball and packing, which I (we) have managed to put off until now. Any helpers will be gladly welcome, and payed in meals, basketball-watching, and wet slobbery kisses (from Dixon, of course). Have a good week! :) Amanda
