Two rainy lazy Saturdays in a row has been awesome!!! It makes me not feel too bad about my favorite weekend activity, nap taking. Jared somehow gets all energetic about house cleaning when it is nasty outside, while I would be happy just to sleep on the couch underneath a blanket while pretending to watch hockey/luge/figure skating/whatever Olympic activity is occurring at the moment. I love, love, love the Olympics and cant wait for the figure skating competitions to commence, while Jared is anxiously awaiting the curling, sport of champions.
We took Dixon to a place that he has a love/hate relationship with today...Petsmart. While he loves it b/c it houses lots of toys he can see, people he can smell, and other dogs butts he can smell, on a day like today he remembered why he hates going in there...b/c that is where we take him to get a bath. Thats right, for 23.99 you can get a bath, "massage" (what the heck qualifies as a dog massage?), brushing, ear cleaning, and the two most important things of all, nail clipping and butt cleaning, two things that I dont mind paying someone else to do. I took a picture of him after we got home, stressed out by all the morning's activity, but still doing what he does best, lying in front of the back door waiting for the squirrels to come taunt him.
We also found out today that two of our friends, Riley and Sarah, are pregnant! While overly excited for them, Jared also has begun to wig out a little, realizing that, yes, indeed we are old enough to have children. We occasionally still feel like we are playing house and will have to be home in time for dinner so mom and dad dont get mad. I have had many friends to have children (the cutest ones ever!), but this is Jared's first experience of one of his friends having a child, outside of our niece who is so adorable...admire picture posted below. As we wandered around Target, he kept shaking his head in disbelief and looking as if someone just proved to him that the world was round, not flat. Anyways, Riley and Sarah, we are so excited for you!

And I finally get to see Dixon. Oh, Dixon, when will I finally get to meet you in person? Life is just not complete...
